The village of Franleu was the scene of a very violent and heroic battle in the second World War.
The commemoration honored the 51st Highland Division and the people of Franleu village who lost their lives
Franleu is a commune in the Somme Department and 17kms from Abbeville

Carolyn & Phil joined The Commander of 51st Infantry Brigade and HQ Scotland in Saint Valery-en-Caux to take part in commemorations marking the 82nd anniversary of the battle in northern France. We played in St Valery en Caux and Veules-Les-Roses

Ceremonies also took place at Veules-les-Roses and many other small towns in the area as local people spared no effort in showing their gratitude and remembrance.

Bagpipes can add so much to an occasion,  the local WI needed some promotion for the anniversary of the first lock down and we were happy to assist!

Burns Night

We love Burns night - every year we try to make Burns night a night to remember. This year (2019) we included the Address to a Haggis!

''Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy o' a grace
As lang's my arm'' (Robert Burns)
